“Lighting the Way Home” is a special event to celebrate the participants and partners of “Common Ground,” an after school and summer youth development program for middle school students from the Quebec Terrace and Nob Hill neighborhoods. Funded by the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation since 2011, Common Ground is providing young people meaningful experiences in the arts and changing the lives of participating youth and the community in which they live.
In addition to the “Common Ground” program, the Carroll Avenue Quebec Terrace Community has received Montgomery County and State of Maryland funds to design and install a number of public art and lighting projects initiated and guided by Arts on the Block.
This event will unveil the first in a series of projects intended to bring light and hope to the community through functional artwork designed and created by “Common Ground” participants and other neighborhood youth.
