Marlene

Marlene

Marlene is originally from Sonsonate, El Salvador and came to the United States in 2003. She enjoys taking care of her three children and spending time with family, especially doing outdoor activities such as playing basketball, swimming, and visiting the park. She also enjoys cooking and sewing and plans to continue learning English so that she can better help her children. She also wants to travel with her family to Disneyland one day!

Marlene has been an extraordinary volunteer at the Linkages to Learning site at Montgomery Knolls ES. Every week during the school year, she supports the Smart Sacks program which provides bags of food to children at risk of hunger. She affixes student names to the “Smart Sacks” and delivers them to children’s classrooms. In addition, Marlene has sorted donations and participated in an office-wide clean-up.
